Love Letter to Research Mural

UNC-Chapel Hill’s Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Magnus Egerstedt published a love letter to the public research university. I was tasked with bringing this letter to life in a mural installation, but make it “sneaker culture.” The project had been passed to multiple designers before it came to me, so starting from the central letter design and “I heart Carolina Research” stickers, I came up with this interactive wheat-pasted poster style collage to engage passers-by. I worked with UNC Research to find a variety of portraits of researchers to highlight Carolina’s remarkable achievements, impact and dedication in as a public research university. This project was produced in less than a month, from project brief to installation.
