GiveUNC

GiveUNC is UNC’s annual day of giving, a 24-hour event to encourage gifts of all sizes to the University. The theme in the fourth year of the event was “a place like no other, a day like no other,” drawing from the Charles Kuralt quote, “What is it that binds us to this place as to no other?” The visual branding of the event uses a diptych to pair a person with a detail of a place or part of life on campus. This emphasizes that while UNC is a place like no other, it is really the people who make it what it is, and who feel the impact of the funds raised on GiveUNC. I chose this approach as a way to use a lot of photography that we already had to create something new safely during COVID.

Schools and units customized their emails with images of people and details that related to their area and would connect with their audience. Emails sent from central Annual Giving featured iconic campus locations instead of people to ensure a wider audience could connect with the imagery.
